Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (holding the title of Deputy Project Director) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education, to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Education, Chinese Language, or equivalent. They should have a minimum of 15 years’ research and teaching experience, including managing and implementing large-scale research projects in relation to education; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong and highly developed leadership, organizational and administrative skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research. Experience and knowledge in teaching Chinese for non-Chinese speaking students is a must.

The appointee will be required to assist the Project Director to manage and oversee a joint-institution research project on teaching and learning of Chinese language for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students; monitor the project timeline and schedule; coordinate and collaborate with partnership schools, teachers and related parties; supervise project staffs to contribute to timely and effective outcomes; develop good exemplars; analyze the collected data and conceptualize the experiences and findings to generate research papers for publication; write up progress reports and evaluation reports for the Project; organize project activities; deliver speeches at dissemination seminars and teacher training programmes; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She should be able to demonstrate the ability to promote a vibrant and collaborative research culture. Those with less qualification and/or work experience may be considered for the post of Lecturer.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
