Help create a new Mandarin immersion school based on current educational research and best practices!

West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) is looking for kindergarten teachers bilingual in Mandarin and English to join the faculty of its new Mandarin immersion elementary school in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Positions are available for both regular and lead kindergarten teachers. The school is opening in August 2017 and will start with kindergarten and add an additional grade each year until grade 6.

WCCUSD is an innovative public school district located in Richmond, California near U.C. Berkeley, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley.

Requirements for Applying


Must possess: - 1. A valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential; 2. One of the following certifications issued by CTC and authorizing primary language instruction in Mandarin: • Bilingual Authorization; • BCLAD or be in the process of obtaining a BCLAD; • Bilingual Cross Cultural Specialist Credential; or • Bilingual Certificate of Competence

Requirements for Applying • EdJoin application • Letter of interest • Current resume • Credential-Clear or Preliminary, Multiple Subject • Copy of Mandarin BCLAD or equivalent • Copy of English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent) • NCLB Compliance, • Copy of transcripts showing evidence of a BA degree • Copy of CBEST and CSET • 2-3 letters of recommendation • Must provide TB results completed within the last year.
