Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese at Colgate University



Colgate University. The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures invites applications for a one-year position in Chinese at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August, 2012. Completion of the Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire, and college-level teaching experience in the United States is preferred; native or near native command of both Chinese and English are required. The area of specialization is open; the successful candidate will be prepared to teach language at the upper intermediate (3rd and 4th year levels), a course in his or her specialization, and an interdisciplinary course in the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. The teaching load is five courses for the year. Salary and benefits are competitive.
