Lecturers of Chinese Studies

Description: The Graduate School of Language and Communication at National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand, seeks two full-time lecturers to work in both M.A. and Ph.D. Programs of Chinese Studies.  

Duties: 1. Teaching load is one course per year (Extra payment on teaching second course in a semester).  2. Publishing a paper in an int’l referred (peer-reviewed) journal and a non-research conceptual paper/study review (i.e., meta-analysis) per year is required.
3. Direct Master’s thesis

Qualifications: Native or near native command of Mandarin-Chinese language and literacy· Minimum of a doctoral degree or Assoc Prof without a doctoral degree in the following related fields is required (ABDs are eligible to apply). Applicants should be competent to teach three courses listed below and direct Master’s thesis in these areas of studies: 1.) Chinese Business, Economics and Finance, 2.) Politics of China and Taiwan, 3.) Chinese for Tourism Industry and 4.) Chinese for Legal Purposes

Salary and benefits: (Thai Baht =THB & United States Dollar =USD)
Totally minimum 60,000 THB/month or 1994 USD/month, including monthly paycheck: 20,203 THB/month or 671 USD/month, maximum research grant per year from Research Center: 500,000 THB or 16618 USD/year, research grant from faculty: 50,000 THB or 1661 USD/year, book purchasing grant: 10,000 THB or 332 USD/year and travel grant: 40,000 THB or 1329 USD/year to present a paper in a conference.  6000 THB per Master’s thesis directed.  Health insurance provided; personal office on 12th or 13th floor to enjoy window view on Bangkok City; a secretary for your academic works; free fitness center memberships; resort trips for student orientations in Thailand every year, and overseas package tour every two years
