Bowdoin College



The Asian Studies Program at Bowdoin College invites applicants for a
one-year, half-time Chinese Language Lecturer position for the academic
year 2011-2012. The lecturer will teach a half course load over the
academic year. Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in
Chinese, a M.A. in Linguistics, Chinese Language Pedagogy, or related
field, as well as teaching experience at the college level in the United
States. The successful candidate will teach upper and lower level
language courses and play an active role in coordinating the program
through participation in Chinese language table.

three references who have agreed provide letters of recommendation. A
DVD of a class taught and an accompanying lesson plan are strongly
recommended. A small sample of self-designed assignments or teaching
materials may also accompany the application.
