2017年,英国汉语教学研究会将迎来20周年庆典。研究会隶属英国汉学学会,是英国大学汉语教师的非营利性学术组织,其主要职能是帮助英国高校汉语教师提高汉语作为第二语言或外语的教学水平和科研能力。本研究会联合南安普顿大学将于2017 628-30日举办“国际汉语教学从语言政策制定到课堂教学实践”为主题的高校国际汉语教学研讨会,暨第十五届英国汉语教学研究会年会。南安普顿位于英国南部,是泰坦尼克号的始发地,隔海相望美丽的怀特岛。

本届年会得到南安普敦大学孔子学院的大力支持。南安普顿大学于2011年与厦门大学联手创立了南安普顿大学孔子学院。该孔院的长远定位是面向从小学到大学的各年龄段学习者,创造并提供全方位学习与了解当代中国的契机,包括对中文语言与文化的探索与学习。

我们诚邀世界各地的汉语教学与研究的专家学者相聚一堂共同探讨汉语本体研究和国际汉语教学的诸多议题。相信此次会议的召开将进一步推动汉语教学在全球范围的发展。

论文摘要可用中文或英文撰写,请包括400 汉字或260 英文的摘要正文和3-5 个关键词及作者姓名、任职机构和电子邮箱。需邀请函者请在邮件中注明。小组发言时间为每篇论文20 分钟,其中包括分钟的问答与讨论。

Teaching and Learning Chinese in Global Contexts:

from Language Policy to Classroom Practice

 The 15th International Conference

on Teaching and Learning Chinese in Higher Education

at the 20th Anniversary of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society

 Wednesday 28th June – Friday 30th June 2017

Founded in 1997, the British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS) is a non-profit academic organisation of Chinese language teachers from British universities, the primary role of the Society is to enhance the quality of teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language at HE level, and to promote research into international Chinese education. At the 20th anniversary of the BCLTS, we are very pleased to announce that the 15th International Conference with the theme of “Teaching and Learning Chinese in Global Contexts: from Language Policy to Classroom Practice”, will be held between Wednesday 28th June and Friday 30th June 2017 at the University of Southampton (where the Titanic Story originated, and with an easy access to the Isle of White).

This conference will be supported by the Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Southampton, which was formally opened in October 2011 in collaboration with the Chinese partners at Xiamen University, P.R. China. Their long term aim is to establish and support the provision of opportunities to study of all aspects of modern China, including language and culture, from primary school through to university level.

We warmly welcome local and international scholars and professionals to exchange their cutting-edge research and practical teaching experiences in Teaching Chinese in Higher Education. The keynote speakers are:

·      Prof. Joël BELLASSEN, Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales, Paris, France

·      Prof. Chengzhi CHU, University of California, Davis, USA

·      Dr Katharine CARRUTHERS, the University College London, Institute Of Education, UK

 Topics of presentation

· Chinese language policies across different regions

· Studies on the Chinese linguistics and Chinese language acquisition

· Teaching and research on Chinese characters, Pinyin and grammar

· Research-informed teaching practice in listening, reading, speaking and writing

· Assessment, evaluation and standards

· Teaching Chinese for Specific-purposes (e.g. Business Chinese)

· Teaching material development

· Integration of culture into language class

· Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign   Language

· Technology-mediated Chinese Provision (e.g. MOOC)

· Teaching and research on Chinese translation and interpreting

Abstract submission

· Title of the paper

· Full name and affiliation of the author(s)

· An abstract of approximately 260 words in English or 400 characters in Chinese

· The corresponding author’s e-mail address. Please keep us noted if you need an invitation letter.

The working languages of the conference will be English and Chinese. Individual papers will be given 20 minutes (15 minutes presentation plus 5 minutes discussion) if accepted.

Full paper submission will be invited after the conference to be peer reviewed and published in due course. The cost of publication will be contributed by the BCLTS.

· 21st Apr, 2017: Notification of results and issue of the invitation letter if necessary

· 21th May, 2017: Early-bird registration deadline

· 11th June, 2017: Conference registration closed

 Conference fees

· Free registration for the BCLTS members

· Registration fees: £100 for non-member delegates, £80 for early-bird registration

· £50 for graduate students (Please supply the proof)

· Accommodation and travel expenses will be self-funded for non-members

· £20 for Conference dinner (optional)
