Lecturer in Chinese at Emory University


The Department of Russian and East Asian Languages and Cultures, Emory University, seeks applications for a full-time lecturer position in Chinese.  The initial appointment will be for a period of three years with renewals and promotions possible within the lecture-track system, as detailed in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences Guidelines for Appointment of Lecture-Track Faculty ( The successful candidate will have: Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English; Ph.D. in Chinese Linguistics or a related field by the time of appointment; ability to teach Chinese language at all levels and content courses in his/her specialty; proven record of teaching American college students; good record developing courses and effective course materials; and familiarity with technology in teaching. Regular teaching load is five courses per year. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum and program development.
