Assistant Professor of Chinese at Loyola University Maryland



The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chinese (open field, but candidates with a research area of modern/contemporary Chinese literature or Chinese applied linguistics are especially encouraged to apply) for the 2013-2014 academic year, to teach all levels of Chinese language, literature and culture. Ability to teach a second modern language is a plus. This person will conduct successful and productive research in his/her field and participate in service at the departmental, college and university levels, which includes organizing film series, and mentoring the Chinese Club. Candidates should also be willing to advise study-abroad students going to Beijing, and participate in student- and department-related activities. Ph.D. in Chinese, in hand by June 1, 2013. Evidence of scholarly promise and teaching excellence. Starting date: Fall 2013.
