Bowdoin College seeks lecturer in Chinese


The Asian Studies Program of Bowdoin College invites applications for
a one-year, half-time lecturer position in Chinese Language beginning
Fall 2008.   Possibility of renewal of this position for an
additional two years will be decided Spring 2009.  Applicants should
have a M.A. in language pedagogy, applied linguistics, or related
areas in Chinese studies.  We are seeking a native speaker of
Mandarin with fluency in English as well as excellent teaching
experience at the college level.  Primary responsibilities include
teaching one course individually and team-teaching drill sessions
with members of the Bowdoin College faculty.  Other responsibilities
include participating in the weekly Chinese language tables and
supporting the language program by meeting with students
individually, preparing supplementary materials, and correcting
homework and quizzes.
