Chinese Language Pedagogy Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures of The
Ohio State University seeks to fill a tenure-track position in Chinese
language pedagogy at the rank of assistant professor. The successful
candidate will demonstrate exceptional ability in teaching Mandarin at
multiple levels and promise as a researcher and developer of Chinese
language pedagogy. This position involves teaching Chinese language,
language pedagogy, training and supervising TAs, and participation in
R&D projects. The successful candidate will join two other Chinese
language pedagogy faculty in teaching graduate courses and program
development-study abroad, internships, and community service projects.
The capacity to teach basic Humanities courses (linguistics, culture,
literature) is also a plus for this position. Ph.D. in Chinese or
relevant discipline in hand by the end of summer 2009; duties begin
Sept. 2, 2009.
